“I realized that working with wine can be a lot more fun sometimes than managing a staff. Wine generally shows up on time, and it generally smells good, and you don't have to have hard conversations with the wine. You don't have to write wine up.”
Born and raised in Charlottesville, VA, Jill has more than 20 years of industry experience, and has worked for several world-class chefs, most notably Charlie Palmer, José Andres and Grant Achatz. She was the first Beverage Director for the ThinkFoodGroup, where she oversaw the wine and cocktail programs for all of José Andres’ D.C. restaurants. She later worked as a Sommelier at Alinea Restaurant in Chicago, and was eventually promoted to Wine Director for the Alinea Group. She became a Master Sommelier in 2018, one of 269 worldwide, and one of only 26 women in the United States. Oh, and she’s completed 6 marathons.
